SPIRITS OF THE WIND
Have you ever felt the rain,
fall softly on your face?
Or watched the clouds float by,
with a peaceful grace
Have you ever taken time,
to hear a wild bird sing?
Or listened on a Sunday,
to all the church bells ring
We take each day for granted,
going about a daily routine
Work becomes the focus,
and our lives are overseen
It is only when we lose someone,
to the Heaven's above
We finally take a breath of time,
to grieve the one we love
Have you ever taken time to ask,
if a person is feeling fine
Or visited them to have a talk,
and strolled along a shoreline
Have you realized in your heart,
how much you really care
Or relived times together,
and the pleasures that you share
Live each day to the fullest,
as tomorrow may never come
Make each minute last an hour
for life is too short for some
Feel happiness, love and laughter
come from deep within
For someday we will all be,
Spirits of the Wind
For my friend, who lost his only child in April 2005

LINE TO NOWHERE
Living life inside our heads
The daily confines of life
Repeating each menial task Dreams are all forsaken
Giving everything to others
Aspirations are held at bay
It takes from within the soul
Leaving a hollow form
Picture shows cross the mind
Journeys back to a happier time
Taking a window seat for the long ride
Boarding the train to the future
Life is what we make it
Learning to give or take
Failure to make the right choice
Puts you on the Line to Nowhere
